We now accept walk-ins at designated COVID-19 sites during vaccination days and hours. You may still schedule your vaccination if you choose, or walk up to our mobile vaccination clinic which is open to everyone! Note: we require masks in all St. Luke's facilities, regardless of COVID-19 vaccination status. This helps us provide safe care in a safe environment for all patients. Undergoing treatment for an enlarged prostate, or benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), can involve medicines or surgery like transurethral resection of the prostrate (TURP). Medicines can help, but may not completely eliminate symptoms. Surgery may involve removal of part of the prostate.
St. Luke's urologists offer several treatment options for BPH, including the minimally invasive procedures Rezum™ and UroLift®.
Rezum is a procedure that uses short steam treatments to target the prostate and improve function. Up to 90% of patients who receive Rezum treatments are able to go off their medication.
UroLift uses tiny implants to lift and hold the enlarged prostate tissue out of the way so it no longer blocks the urethra. There is no cutting, heating, or removal of prostate tissue.
Rezum and UroLift are safe, effective, and can improve BPH symptoms. Results have shown little or no impact on sexual function. Our goal is to relieve you of bothersome urinary symptoms so you can get back to your life and resume daily activities.
